Raw Granola

A fully energetic start of the day !

=> Soaking the grains and nuts is very important as it will  suppress  enzyme inhibitors and it will activate all the dormants nutrients.

A raw granola that does this is a highly nutritious and a great source of digestive enzymes

The grains will give you all the energy to start your day, as well as the nutrients, fatty acids ,vitamins and minerals…

My dream of a breakfast:

Homemade granola with almond/coconut/hemp mylk and fresh fruits ( kiwi, strawberries banana)

+

Green tea.

Homemade granola :

1 cup of rolled oats

1/4 cup  of almonds/ hazelnuts

1/4 cup of   pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds

1/4 cup of buckwheat

2 T of almond butter

2 T of maple syrup

2T of melted coconut oil

1 t of cinnamon

Dried sultanas/ cranberries/ coconut flakes/goji berries/ raw cacao nibs

Salt

Method :

Place the nuts in a food processor and pulse a few times to get chunks.

In a bowl mix the almond butter with the syrup, coconut oil, cinnamon and salt. Then add all the remaining ingredients.

The goji berries and cacao nibs will give you the extra boost of energy.

Raw cacao is full of magnesium, iron, vitamins …

Goji berries are high in iron, in protein, antioxydants, vitamins and 18 amino acids !!!

  • If you are going for a raw granola the you need to dehydrate it ie not « to cook it » over 48°C…

If you have a dehydrator : line up a tray with a Teflex shhet, spray the mixture and dehydrate for 6 hours at 45°C

  • If you are going for a traditional granola : preheat your oven at 150°, line up a baking tray with cooking paper and cook for 15-20 minutes . It has to be golden Brown.

Let it cool down and break into pieces and store in an airtight container.

My husband’s smoothie

Finally! my husband told me last night that he is willing to go 100% vegan for a month, and maybe between 60 to 70% RAW!!!! Yeah or Jay as we used to say during my training in Bali.

Funny enough, it is not because I was telling him of all the benefits or asking him to try, but because of all the videos we are watching, all the materials that I share with him that he got convinced. I guess it is pretty normal, it always like that when a person that close to you, tells you something we often hear it but we let go….

So this morning he had his usual fresh squeezed juice and he made himself his own smoothie…………..:)

1 Banana

1 ripe kiwi

1 handful or frozen raspberries

1 c of coconut milk

1 handful of goji berries

1 T of ground gold flax seeds

1t of spirulina

The extra bonus was to use the Magic Bullet that I got for my birthday, everybody in the family loves it!

Ps: let’s go crazy tomorrow and add some spinach :-)

Chia, small seed but super good for you…

Radiant breakfast:

Chia is a superfood!

  • Packed with essential fatty acids (omega 3 & 6).
  • It is easy digestible.
  • Hydrating for the body because it retains large amount of water, (about 10 times their weight) and the water is absorbed by the seeds holding it in our system longer.
  • Another great benefit is that chia seeds slow down how fast our bodies convert carbohydrate calories into simple sugars.
  • Finally it is a very good source of protein, fiber, magnesium calcium…

Chia pudding with fruits

 ¼ c of chia seeds

1 ½ c nut milk or water

1 pinch of salt

Sweetener of your choice (coco palm sugar, maple syrup, date paste…)

Cinnamon

In a bowl pour the chia seeds and cover with water or nut milk. Stir well and let it sit for a little while or keep it in the fridge overnight. Just before serving  add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.

Top with your favorite fruits, anything goes, and add cacao nibs, nuts, seeds, raisins, anything you love.

Enjoy!
